Mac :: Creating Multiple Databases

Last Updated: Mar 28, 2018 04:54PM EDT

Neat for Mac uses the concept of file folders within a cabinet. When you first open Neat for Mac after installation, you will be using our default Cabinet file, “Neat Library.” This Cabinet file is stored on on your hard drive under Documents (using the extension .nrmlib). You can create multiple Cabinet files that are stored separately from the Neat Library default. This can be useful if you would like to separate your items by user, business, personal, the type of content they contain, or perhaps by month or year.

To create a new cabinet, do the following:

  1. In the File menu, select New and then click Cabinet.Image of the File menu
  2. In the Save dialog box, enter the name for the new cabinet, select a location, and then click Save.Image of the Save dialog box

Note: If you would like to change the default cabinet that opens when you launch Neat for Mac, see Changing the Default Cabinet in Neat for Mac for more information.
