The sorting feature in Neat 5 allows more robust sorting for your receipts.
You can still use the original sort function by clicking the header for any column and sort by Vendor, Expense Category, Receipt Date, Payment Type, etc. However, the new sort feature allows you to group receipts to two additional sub-levels.
To start, click Tools in the upper right, then Sort, and finally Receipts.
You will then have access to 3 levels of sorting options.
Click on the first option, Sort By, to open a drop down list and choose how your receipts will be sorted overall.
You may then proceed to the second option, Then By, to choose how to organize items within the first overall option. The Then By categories are both optional and may be left at (none).
In the example above, Receipts will be first organized by Vendor so all receipts will be sorted alphabetically by vendor name. Ascending will order them from A-Z. Descending will order them from Z-A.
All receipts from a particular vendor will then be in alphabetical order by Tax Category.
Finally, all receipts with the same Tax Category will be sorted alphabetically by Receipt Date.
