To get started using the Neat cloud service, it’s best that you download and install the latest version of the Neat software on your computer. Your Neat cabinet is where all of the items that you scan into Neat are stored. You cabinet functions much like a real filing cabinet, allowing you to create folders that you can add items to and organize according to your preference. By default, the cabinet is named My Cabinet.

Managing Your Data
Learn how to organize and manage the data in your Neat cabinet. Neat allows you to create folders, to organize your information using the categories you deem most useful. For example, you might choose to create a folder organization structure that separates your home expenses documentation from your business expenses documentation, making it easier to distinguish between the two. Further, the more items you scan into Neat, the bigger your database will become. Thankfully, Neat provides handy search, sort, and filter tools that allow you to find any item in your database, fast, no matter how many files it may contain.

You can scan items into the Neat cloud service using a Neat scanner or any of a number of third party scanners. Scanning into the Neat cloud service is the fastest way to turn your piles of paper documents into digital files. Once your items are scanned into the Neat cloud service, you’ll be able to access them anywhere, using any web browser on your computer or mobile device.

You can use any of the Neat scanners–NeatMobile, NeatDesk, or NeatConnect–to scan items to the Neat software on your computer and then add the items to the Neat cloud service by syncing. Neat cloud service allows you to import a variety of image file types, as well as PDF files. This feature is useful if you have files saved on your computer that you want to aggregate in one place by adding them to your Neat database.

Once you have files scanned in the Neat cloud service, you can easily export them out of the software and into third party programs to complete other functions. In Neat cloud, you can also download and print items.
Exporting items from the Neat cloud service to PDF files gives you shareable copies of the images contained in your files or folders.
